It’s true that the associate nursing program is a fairly quick way to become a registered nurse. However, some students still prefer to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) because it is more in demand in the market today. If the associate program is for those who want to pursue technical nursing, BSN on the other hand is a nursing programs for those who want to pursue a professional career. It involves general education classes and of course, specialized nursing classes throughout the course of study. For those Registered Nurse who got their license from associate nursing or diploma programs, they can still get a BSN degree through the RN to BSN nursing program. This usually involves flexible hours to accommodate the schedule of nurses.

Nursing career is not only for those who decided to be in the medical field from the beginning. Even those who are not nurses and did not undergo a nursing program can still get a BSN degree. This is through the Second Degree BSN and Accelerated Nursing Program. These two are basically the same in the aim of providing a BSN degree for those who have non-nursing degrees quickly by leaving out general education subjects already taken. As a result, it will only take 2 years for one to complete a Second Degree BSN while it will take around a year for one to finish the Accelerated Nursing Program which makes it one of the most popular ways for non-nursing degree holders.
